BIO

DeLovie Kwagala AKA Papa De (they/them) is an international award winning multi anti disciplinary visual artist, 1st Uganda’s non-binary queer photographer, a human rights activist, a photojournalist, a Somatic Embodied Practioner and the founder of HahtagWhatNext. They are self-taught and currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. DeLovie’s work explores narratives around identity, migration and displacement, home and belonging, mental health, social Injustices, and gender-sexuality, inspired by their experience and those of others.
